Haters Are Going To Hate

Haters Are Gonna Hate

Over the months I’ve thought about writing a post about transforming hate into love but shied away because you cannot change a person. I am an eternal optimist and advocate for living a healthy and positive life. Hence why I created Gamma Living. The more I thought about the hate circling the internet I had to write about it. Some people are quick to judge others. Haters are going to hate but the best thing we can do is ignore it.

I pride myself on never sharing derogatory comments on social media or speaking negatively about anyone. More often than not I see wars happening between people in the comments section of posts on social media because of their opposing opinions. An amateur way of fighting behind an avatar or alias in my opinion. Remember the age old expression: “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all.” That applies at all ages not just adolescence. When I see grown adults treating each other with disrespect it affects me. Why? Because children are sponges and they absorb what they see. Explain to me why there are so many children committing suicide and/or afraid to go to school for bullying? When adults don’t set a great example how will children know the difference? Innocent lives are being taken because of some peoples bad habits.

As many therapists will tell you, it’s typically not the person the attacker is attacking that they are angry with: it is themselves. When you are labeled a bully or hater it’s because you have your own insecurities to work on. We all have insecurities which is why instead of breaking one another apart we should be spreading love and lifting one another. Educating each other on ways to get through dark times. Supporting one another’s opposite opinions on varying topics. No two people will ever see eye-to-eye.

Being openminded is a gift. It allows you to see things objectively. It opens the possibility to learn something new and/or valuable. Regardless of your stance on any matter, you can support people for their differences and stand up for others. Isn’t that the beauty in freedom of speech and being individuals? Is it too much to ask that we all come from a loving place and keep our side of the street clean? Life is fragile, vulnerable, precious and passing. How many cases of hate do we have to endure to be the change?

When I see jealously turn into rage or anger turn into hate it makes me sad. It takes the same amount of effort to say something kind and uplifting as it does to be hurtful. It takes the same energy to spread love that it does to spread hate. So why? Why would anyone invest time into a vicious cycle of negativity? Why would you live in such toxicity? The Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life. Doesn’t everyone want love and positivity? Love is after all a universal language.

Though we can never truly know all that any one person is enduring, we can choose to be loving. We can choose kindness over hate. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice. It’s free to offer help, support each other and show gratitude. It’s also free to ask others for help. Perhaps the answer to hating yourself and misdirecting your hate onto others is asking those people you are targeting your negative energy for help. Asking them how they choose to be happy? What drives them? What makes them want to live each day fully and learn from their positive examples.

The more we pay attention to the things we choose to give and receive, and actively come from a place of love, the more we can collectively make a difference. A change in the world. At the end of the day we all came into this world the same way and we will all leave the same way. It’s how we choose to live each day and love that makes the difference between self hate and self love. Practice working on your inner peace and thinking before you speak. Detox negative thoughts and purify yourself. Think about children who are innocently absorbing what you are putting out into the universe the next time you spread hate and negativity. If love could save your life would you end the hate?

Please share any acts of kinds or resources in the comments below to inspire others to be the change. I love you all.
